Publication Ethics

Ethical Commitment

Ilmues Open Journals is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. All journals published under the Ilmues platform adhere to internationally recognized ethical guidelines and follow the principles and best practices set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to comply with these ethical standards.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts represent original work conducted in accordance with ethical research practices. Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and improper reuse of previously published material. Appropriate citation and acknowledgment of sources are required.

  • Data Integrity and Accuracy

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscripts. Data fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or selective reporting is strictly prohibited. Where applicable, authors should retain original data and be prepared to provide access upon reasonable request.

  • Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Submission

Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to another journal or previously published elsewhere in substantially similar form.

  • Authorship and Contribution

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Any changes in authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all authors.

  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the research or its interpretation.

  • Ethical Approval and Consent

For research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data, authors must confirm that the study was conducted in accordance with relevant ethical standards and approved by appropriate review boards where required.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editorial Independence

Editors make decisions based solely on the scholarly merit of manuscripts, including originality, clarity, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial, institutional, or personal interests.

  • Confidentiality

Editors must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose information to unauthorized individuals.

  • Conflict of Interest

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

  • Fair and Transparent Decision-Making

Editorial decisions are based on peer review reports and editorial judgment. Decisions are communicated clearly, fairly, and in a timely manner to authors.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Objectivity and Constructive Review

Reviewers are expected to provide fair, unbiased, and constructive evaluations that contribute to the improvement of the manuscript.

  • Confidentiality

Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and must not share or use unpublished material for personal advantage.

  • Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline review assignments when such conflicts exist.

Peer Review Integrity

Ilmues Open Journals is committed to maintaining the integrity of the peer review process. Peer review is conducted fairly, independently, and without influence from commercial, institutional, or personal interests.

Any attempts to compromise peer review integrity, including manipulation, coercion, or reviewer misconduct, are considered unethical and will be addressed in accordance with established ethical guidelines.

Handling of Ethical Misconduct

Allegations of ethical misconduct—including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or manipulation of the peer review process—are taken seriously.

Suspected cases are investigated in accordance with COPE recommendations and the relevant journal’s internal procedures. Appropriate actions may include requests for clarification, manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other remedial measures, depending on the severity and outcome of the investigation.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

Ilmues Open Journals is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.

  • Corrections are issued when errors affecting accuracy or interpretation are identified.
  • Retractions are issued when findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error.
  • Expressions of concern may be published when investigations are ongoing or unresolved.

All notices are clearly linked to the original article and remain permanently accessible. Journals follow COPE procedures for handling:

  • Errata
  • Corrigenda
  • Retractions
  • Editorial expressions of concern

Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher supports ethical publishing practices by providing infrastructure, administrative support, archiving, and dissemination services while fully respecting editorial independence. The publisher does not influence editorial decisions and adheres to recognized standards of ethical scholarly publishing.

Ethical Oversight and Continuous Improvement

Ilmues Open Journals regularly reviews and updates its ethical policies to reflect evolving best practices in scholarly publishing. Feedback from the academic community and developments in ethical standards are considered as part of this continuous improvement process.

Contact for Ethical Concerns

Concerns regarding publication ethics, potential misconduct, or breaches of ethical standards should be reported confidentially to the Editorial Office of the relevant journal published under Ilmues Open Journals.
